Setting Ringtone Newbie Question

Hey Everybody,

I'm a newbie of course and I need help. From my iPhone 4 I downloaded a ringtone from iTunes and the ringtone went directly to my phone's iPod and not into the ringtone "area."

Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to find a way to move the ringtone from the iPod to where the ringtones are in my phone.

My question is, do I have to sync up my phone to the computer? Or is there a way to transfer the ringtone within my phone itself? If so, did someone on this forum give step by step instructions on how to do it?

Yes, it has too be done thru iTunes.
