Show Word Document on iPhone Screen

I need the ability to have a Word document on my iPhone

Is there a free way of doing this?

I emailed the doc to myself in which I can open it and view it, but want to be able to save it to iPhone home screen to access it easier
I do not need to edit it, just view it

You can't save documents to the springboard. You can cache them into other apps like Dropbox for future reference, but unless you download an app that specifically allows you to edit it like Polaris or Documents-To-Go, you can't edit it. But you can still view it.
