SIM-card swap

I was recently given an elderly iphone 6s which, just as I was beginning to understand it, has developed a tendency to try to switch off, and one camera screen has gone blank. It is on a Three New PAYG system.
If I buy a new iphone 11 can I just transfer the nano SIM card from the old to the new without having to do anything else? I guess that it keeps the same number and that I don't need to tell Three.

Yes, you can simply swap the nano SIM over, provided that the new iPhone is unlocked (not tied to another carrier).
