Why is there not an option to opt out of emails for threads we are subscribed to? Just the emails. Do I have to unsubscribe to each thread I'm subscribed to? I've done that. But when I comment again, the emails come back. I like being subscribed to threads. I just don't want the emails.

There is an option. Click the "Thread Tools" above and click unsubscribe.

If that's the case, change the action from daily to instant, or to another interval that you'd like to receive the notifications from

One must make a choice -- stay subscribed and receive the email notifications or unsubscribe and stop receiving the email notifications. Once unsubscribed he can always create a book mark for any thread of interest and check it on a regular basis.

Thanks to everyone. I think I've found a solution. It won't stop the emails, but will alleviate my irritation with them.
