Swiping up for Control center

You can control whether Control Center is accessible at your lockscreen. To access Control Center, you have to drag/brush your finger from off-screen up.

I am supposed to be able to access Control Center by swiping my finger from the bottom to the center. Not working!!!!
Do I do this from the lock screen or the home screen? I can't get it to do what it should without going to Settings first. Help!!!!

If you have a case on your phone, it can be tricky. Especially one like an Otterbox. Not lock screen. Anywhere but. I have to kind of push my finger into where the screen meets the edge of the case, then kind of roll my finger as I swipe up. If you can't get it to swipe up naked, then it may be another issue. Many have problems because of their case. I don't think the case designers foresaw this access to swipe from the bottom would be a problem. It is. Sometimes it takes me me 5 or 6 attempts.
