Sync or not sync with pc?

Hello

With the latest iTunes and iPhone 4 software, do I still need to plug in my iphone to my pc in order to remove/add apps that I've purchased or can I just hold an app, wait for the x to appear and just delete? Will they still be available if I choose to reinstall?

For apps you can always just hold on to the app make it wiggle and then click the x to uninstall and unlike music, apps are completely free to reinstall over the app store granted that you have already purchased it once.
