Sync Speed

Does anyone have experience with the sync speed for only contacts and calendar entries between the iPhone 4 and Outlook using iTunes? I have 1500 contact entries and 1000 calendar entries. For a very large number of entries, is the speed tolerabe, or too slow to be of practical use?

Contacts and calendar are just two text files, speed should be very quick.

Thanks. Yes, text files do sync verey quickly.

I loaded my wife's iPhone 4 with 2000 Note entries (easy to enter 2 lines, and then copy and paste the duplicates) and synced it with Outlook. After the intial sync which took 7 minutes for 2000 entries, subsequent syncs with just a handful of Note changes took about 1.5 minutes.

Sync speed the was the last thing I needed to test before making the decision to dump my Blackberry and swith to the iPhone 5 when it comes out next month. I can now comfortability make the switch from Blackberry to iPhone.
