Syncing iPhone iOS 5

When I sync my iPhone (iOS 5), the info in my iPhone calendat does not sync to Outlook 2010 on my desktop - but if I put info in the Outlook 2010 calendar, it does sync - how can I fix so it doesn't matter where I put the info - it will sync to both the iPhone and Outlook 2010? Thank you -
