Hi.
I've been using an iPhone since the 3 came out sometime in 2009. I've since upgraded my iPhone with every new release and currently have a 4/32gig.
The iPhone 5 is a beautiful work of capable hardware, but my real problem is with Apple itself. One of the issue I have with the iPhone "package" is the inability of iTunes to work efficiently under any other OS than Windows or apple. I'd love to run OpenSuse, a Linux distro but iTunes have problems within it.
Apple policies have always rubbed me the wrong way.
One of the issues I have with Apple is the 5 computer sync limit (A concern for someone with 5 iOS devices) and the restrictions it imposes on software developers regarding access to various parts of the iPhone.
The release of iOS6 has really tipped me over the edge.
Every OS comes with bloatware and iOS is no exception.
I've created a special folder for these apps on my iPhone... such as compass, weather, voice recorder, videos, game center etc to get them out of the way. I have 3rd party apps which are superior.
Back when iOS5 was released, it introduced "Newsstand" which I found particularly annoying because it's something I'd never use and Apple requires me to keep it on my desktop and won't allow me to hide it in a folder along with all their other bloatware. I guess they just want me to buy my magazines from them through their iTunes store.
So iOS 6 comes along with it's new set of bloatware, the most annoying is "Passbook" which is also required to remain on a desktop. I am not a twitter or facebook user so chock those up for more useless bloatware. Apple has required me to create a new desktop, swiped all the way over on the Right to house all the useless things they require me to have.
There's other Apple policies I find rather annoying which diminish the experience of an otherwise wonderful hardware invention.
So I am looking and researching all my options, and the Samsung Galaxy S3 is very appealing. It's not Apple, a major selling point.
I'm still a month or so away from coming to a decision.
Thanks for reading.
