Transferring info from iPhone 4S to SE

Just bought an SE which won't speak to my MacBook Air as it doesn't have OSX10.8.5 - and won't upgrade beyond 10.6.8 which my iPhone 4 used. How can I transfer contacts and iTunes to my new phone ?
