Unusual SMS activity

I have an iphone4, locked to vodafone (Australia). I have noticed some unusual activity with SMS messaging. Strange messages appear in my "message app" when I open it, from a locked screen. Recently at random times my phone will notify me via alert that a message has been sent from my phone...even though it is in 'locked' mode....I am concerned that a third party may have accessed my phone records...Is this possible and what can I do about it???

Alert stating that messages have been sent out from your iPhone? Is your iPhone jailbreaked? Are you having/using any other SMS app except for the stock SMS app?

No "jailbreak" software has been installed/used on this phone and the only activity that I aware of is through my service provider. Do you know of a good app that keeps SMS log?

The stock SMS app in your iPhone keep your SMS log if no one delete them. Also you can contact your SMS provider for more details if needed.
