The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcements (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HIS) department has today launched a very important new app designed to enlist the publics help with finding fugitive and unknown suspect child predators, and possibly helping rescue children who are in danger. The app, which is the first of its kind in U.S. federal law enforcement, enables the user to report tips anonymously, among other features.
The app was developed by ICEs Office of Public Affairs, along with special agents from HISs Cyber Crimes Center and field offices throughout the US.
"The creation and launch of this application provides ICE another useful tool to reach the public," said ICE Director of Public Affairs Brian Hale. "We recognize that people receive a great deal of information on their mobile devices and we are hopeful that this app will encourage them to submit tips about suspects and to learn more about our work investigating child exploitation crimes."
The Operation Predator App gives the user alerts about wanted predators, and also enables the user to view news about arrests and prosecutions of child predators and additional resources about ICE and its global partners in the fight against child exploitation.
