You do "not" need "any" type of package to use your iDevice as a USB drive. All you need is a USB SSH client. I use i-FunBox.
It is recommended you store files in the "Volumes" folder. I have entire programs stored in there. All my jailbreak tools, ipsw's. Deb files.
No Cydia package is needed. Just SSH via a USB client. (not wifi).
