Hi everyone.
I am going to Bali next week, and will be using a locally purchased sim during my stay. My question is, will all my apps still work on a different sim. In particular, I use Whatsapp regularly, so will it simply recognise all my contacts?

Welcome to iPhoneForums.

On older devices, your contacts would be stored on the SIM. On newer devices, they're all stored locally on the device's flash storage itself, so if you take out your SIM, nothing changes except your ability to make calls/text/web. If you replace it with another SIM (assuming you're unlocked), you will receive the same functionalities but in a different country.

In the case of WhatsApp, nothing will change. Continue messaging as usual. WhatsApp will only ask for a phone number at the initial setup. If you change your SIM card, messages will still go through as long as you have an adequate connection
