I need help.

I currently have an iPhone 4s but am changing to my Dads 5.

The thing is......Dad died at the end of September this year and there is one of his voicemails on my 4s that I'd like to keep.
I havent had the need to backup my phone until now.

My question is......will the backup of my 4 which is then transferred to the 5 contain this voicemail or will I need to do it some other......hopefully easy way?

Thanks

I do not know if your backup will contain his message.

What I'd do is contact his provider to see if they can ensure it is switched over.

In addition, I have read that voice mails are sometimes deleted by the carrier after a certain amount of time. So, TBH, before you did any backups or transfers, see if you can save that voice mail as a sound file on your phone (or even computer). That way, you can ensure you always have the file versus worrying whether a voice mail message will remain.

I am sure there are many ways to save a voice mail as a sound file.

Good luck and I'm sorry about your loss.

Depending on your carrier, you may be able to view it online by logging onto the account. There may be ways for you to save it, extract it, or just use a sound recorder to record it.

Hope everything works out and sorry for your loss.

sorry for your loss.

if you still have the voicemail, make sure your in a quiet room, play it and use a sound recorder on another phone to record it, max the volume to ensure clarity. sounds a bit silly, but thats how i heped my bro save his voicemail from some celeb awhile ago.

Thanks guys, and for your sympathy too.

I have plugged his phone into my laptop and extracted his pics onto my desktop to save them, but it doesnt seem to save his videos.
How can I save these?

Thanks again
