Way to save music playlist spot after sync

Is there a way to save where I am in my current playlist before and after I sync? Currently, when I sync, the iPhone "forgets" what playlist it was playing and obviously what song I was on. With phone syncing a lot more now since its wireless, I keep having to reselect my previous playlist.
