What are you doing right NOW??? ;)

Contemplating the best way to simulate air flow over a set of copper or aluminum tubes with fins while simultaneously simulating R410A flowing through the tubes while it is changing state from a either a liquid to gas or gas to liquid.

And no, sadly, I am not joking.
I was doing that yesterday ;)

Copper would be best, would it not? Sounds like you're making liquid oxygen or liquid nitrogen.

Actually it's for the evaporator and condenser coils of the AC units we build. Copper is the better material for heat transfer under most conditions but aluminum costs less and also less likely to be stolen. So we have to weigh return on investment when you are talking about as much as a $5K to $8K difference in price for the unit based on the coil material alone.

Have you figured out how to account for the air bubbles in the tubes? The bubbles tend to make a difference in lowering the transfer rate of energy. And I need to account for that. ;)

I hope you had good weather for the antiques fair.
Thanks sci, We got about half way round and the rain started, Light at first but heavy after a while, The dealers started to pack up but we saw most of it, I was really enjoying it up to then, It was a nice fair.
