Just updated my MacBook Pro to macOS 11.0 Big Sur Beta. Apparently macOS X Catalina is the last version of OS X.
OS X lasted from it’s introduction on March 24, 2001 until it's forthcoming replacement later this year.
Apple has also brought back the startup sound or bong with macOS 11, although it has a deeper sound than previously.

Going to meet a colleague who had to retire this year, earlier than expected - she is younger than I am. She invited us (former colleagues) to dinner.
