What's your Theme?

What's your Theme?

I have over 5GB worth of themes and experience NO lag of any kind. So I think that's too simplistic an answer. I guess I'm lucky - or maybe it's that I only use themes and widgets that are well vetted on places like here and ModMyI.

Like i said in an earlier post, some themes can be huge and run really smooth because the were designed so well,

Other themes can be half that, and make your phone lag horribly, not because they are big, but just because they were poorly put together.

I didn't say "themes" make your phone lag. I said "some themes" make your phone lag.

And "I" didn't say that I had a couple of large themes equaling 5 GB. I have close to 35 themes loaded into winter board totaling 5 GB of data. I have found them from all different sources but most of them vetted well. Themes are written using CSS stylesheet code; a very simplistic code that's very hard to mess up so much so that it would make your entire phone "lag".

Themes that use involved animations or themes that are from pirated sources where "malware" could be introduced into them could cause troubles with your phone. But if you're careful to only load purchased themes or free themes from Cydia itself, then it's not themes that are making your phone lag. What I'm trying to emphasize is that no one need fear adding a theme to their jailbroken phone for fear of it slowing down their phone. That just does not happen that often unless you're using pirated sources. You can't really "poorly write" a theme. It either works or doesn't work if the syntax of the stylesheet is correct or not.

C'mon - you guys would prefer the stock iOS theme to this?

Is there a way to stop a theme from using its wallpaper? I have it set to use my wallpaper under winter board but every re-spring it uses the themes wallpaper. Same with when I want to use my ford lock screen slider it goes with the themes one instead.

Just delete the included wallpaper from the theme's folder

Just delete the wallpaper within the theme, or change it to something else.

This is as far as I go with theming:

Black UPS the only theme I have found that I really like, and I only use for a week at a time....and it's not very often.

Like I said....I change my lock screen slider to black, make my pop up alerts the same as the ones used on the lock screen "slide to" alerts, and every once and a while I'll use the Black UPS theme.

I go through a bunch of themes from time to time to see of I find anything I like. Everything I seem to like is missing icons I need to enjoy how the theme would make my phone look. I really hate that not a lot of themes have a biteSMS icon, and when they do....it's some ugly pink, or just ugly in another way. I had to change a few of the icons in the Black UPS, so I would like it. Had I now been able to change the few icons, then I wouldn't use the theme at all.

Zig, I have very similar taste. I have just stock icons and switch my retina wallpapers frequently. Only real themes I have are for the status bar and SMS..

I figured out my wallpaper thing. I didn't have the uses userwall paper above the theme in the winter board. Everything is working good now
