Ya know ~ Apple has a very cool one time courtesy not policy, that they will replace it for free! I know tons of folks that did this ~ iPhone and iPad. It would not hurt to have the wife take it in with the crying culprit. They will do it, almost guarantee it.

Hell ~ you are not far, I will do it for you if you want! They love me here.

I actually fixed it myself. $44 dollars from Amazon.
