Ok, bizarro world has visited my iPhone 4S and iOS 5.0.1 final.

Usage 6 Hours and 14 Minutes.
Standby 15 Hours and 47 Minutes.

Battery life remaining: 44%

I have NO CLUE how this is happened. I didn't change anything. And for the previous four days I would be at maybe 15% battery left if I was lucky. Heck even my wacky math says I should only have 32% battery left under ideal conditions.

Today has been a great day for our batteries my friend. :D!

That is strange though. My final usage for my battery time was 10 1/2 hours usage and 17+ hours standby.

I wish I'd know what my times would've looked like if I had WiFi to connect to at home.

Battery life fluctuates. I have no idea why. Just a question. I'd you have more apps on your device will battery go down faster?
I always close my apps after use.

I haven't double clicked the home button for the last two days. I already proved to myself that unloading apps was a waste of my time.

I got my usage times with all of my apps I use in the multitasking bar as well. I haven't closed an app in a couple of days either.

I mean. If you have more applications stored on your device, will battery life decrease compared to somebody who has no apps I mean of they are all closed in the background does applications kill battery life without use?

People I just want to clarify one thing: standby time is NOT screen off time. Usage time is the time your screen is on and being used, standby time is time off the charger since last full charge. This has been true for a very long time. Try it for yourself. I had 2 hours of use and 4 hours standby reported at 11 am this morning, and I sure as hell did not get up at 5. My alarm is set for 7.

So please no more saying you got X hours of usage and also XX hours of standby.

Well no matter how you put it The time off the charger or the standby usage it doesn't matter.

So whats your point? Nobody is adding the 2 together you subtract the usage from the standby so if you have 2 hours of usage and 10 hours of standby your standby time is actually 8 hours of true standby.

Plus one.
I haven't seen anybody adding the two together.

You could have a million apps installed and it wouldn't make one bit of difference to the battery life.

Oh great. Just something I thought about. I did Something interesting. My phone was at 8% battery. So I connected it to the Mac, did a back up then help the home button and power button at the same time ( while still connected to the Mac) and the phone turned off, then I still held onto the home button then entered DFU MODE... Then I clicked restore and it did its thing. Then I set up has a new iPhone and ticked the box that says sync all apps contacts etc.
I just hope this fixed my battery.
Do you think by putting your phone in DFU MODE could fix the battery life in any way?

DFU mode is just for restoring the firmware. Now starting over is where people are reporting battery life gain. But you can't restore any of your old settings and data. Just reinstall the apps, music and photos. Then manually setup your preferences.

I am going to take a wild guess and say you haven't read every post. Mainly because I stated that fact ages ago and everyone already operates under that information as fact.

So don't worry. We have it covered.

That's what I did. I did not restore my device from back up. No. I set up has a new iPhone on my 4S

That's what Apple did to my first phone, I didn't have any luck with it. But my new iPhone seems to be better. Hopefully it will work out for you though.
