MacRumors reports that Flickr has today published its Year in Review figures that offer lots of interesting snippets of information about the photo-sharing community, and it looks like good news for Apple once again, with the iPhone yet again winning the Top Brands category.
According to Flickr’s stats, the iPhone was used by 54% of photographers who uploaded photos to the website, beating dedicated camera makers such as Canon, which came in second with 23%, and Nikon, which was third, with 18% of photos posted.
As far as the breakdown of individual iPhones is concerned, the most popular iPhones used were older models such as the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone 5s. In fact, iPhones actually made up 9 of Flickr’s Top 10 Devices of 2017, with Canon’s 5D Mark III sneaking in amongst all the Apple devices.
As far as device types are concerned, smartphones in general now represent 50% of photos uploaded to Flickr, with DSLRs in second place with 33%.
