[FONT="]MacRumors and Electronista report today that AT&T is currently offering refurbished iPhone 3GSs for $9 if bought at the same time as a two-year contract. According to Electronista, AT&T made the move this past Friday, July 15, which is, as Electronista notes, the lowest official non-sale or special offer price that the iPhone 3GS has ever been offered at in the US. Electronista also says that Apple has been dropping clues that the next iPhone will phase out the iPhone 3GS, offering up as evidence the fact that Canadian carrier Koodo has started its new relationship with Apple selling only the iPhone 4, and not the 3GS. Of course this follows hot on the heels of yesterdays rumour that Apple could be turning the iPhone 3GS into its pre-paid budget handset, but that only applied to contractless iPhone 3GSs. Hopefully well get to the bottom of all these iPhone rumours once Apple finally decides to let us know its plans, but if youve been thinking of buying an iPhone, its probably best to wait and see exactly what handsets and deals Apple will be announcing in the next couple of months.
