I found that strange, I have tried a least 4 different Bluetooth headsets with my iphone 4 including a Nokia headset, they all paired well and I could take calls with them. But I did return them one after the other eventually because they were not streaming radio or music played from my iphone, then I bought one on eBay, an A2DP headset and not only it pairs well but stream music and radio from my iphone. I guess either your headset is faulty or you are not pairing it well according to the instruction of the headset.
