AppleInsider reports today that it has heard some accurate information about the budget iPhone from Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securites. Kuo says that the cheaper iPhones specs were agreed upon way back in 2011, and so therefore Apple is not likely to change its plans to accommodate the current fashion for larger screens. Kuo says that the budget iPhone has a super-thin plastic casing mixed with glass fiber, and that it will be stronger, thinner and lighter than your average smartphone case. In specific terms, Kuo says that the cheaper iPhone will be between 0.4 and 0.6 millimetres thick, and will be available in different colours, similar to the iPod range, which is another rumour that has been circulating for a long time. Kuo says that there will be between four and six different colours to choose from.

As AppleInsider notes, Kuo is a very good source with a good track record when it comes to Apple products.
