Phase 1 of Apple's Campus 2 is scheduled to be complete some time in 2016. Constructed on iconic spaceship-like building is currently underway, with photographs shot from drones showing that the campus is beginning to take shape.

News broke Friday when some building permits were found for Apple's future auditorium and on-campus fitness center. According to the documents, our favorite fruit company will build a 120,000 square foot auditorium for press events, costing around $161 million. As we assumed, Apple cares about its employees, so the company is building a 100,000 fitness center costing around $74 million.

That's a load of money but Campus 2 is in it for the long-run. The Campus won't be able to take off, but it will house more than 12,000 Apple employees.
