Buying off eBay/applecare

I bought my daughters Apple Watch SE off eBay last Christmas. I didn’t think about Applecare.

I thought about getting my sons AirPods off eBay. He wants a newer gen. Can I get AppleCare on them?

You won't be able to add AppleCare from eBay only places like Best buy or similar and of course the Apple store

You can buy Apple Care up to 60 days from purchase of AirPods. I am fairly certain that also means from new.
