Every now and then I run into a situation where certain files that are copied from the phone seem to be corrupt. For example, I copied FolderIconBG@2x~iphone.png from /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app and I can't seem to open it in any image editing software, the message I get is that it may be corrupt. I've tried emailing the images to myself and I've tried sending them to dropbox.
When I go ahead and create a new image and place it in the proper location for Winterboard, it never seems to be accepted in the theme and Winterboard falls back to the default image.
Does Apple do something special to some of the images that prevents us from opening/editing them?
