Forgot my iPhone4 lock code,need help

not even two days since i started using my iPhone and i changed a lock-code which i forgot
i tried restoring it but it had to download updates before restoring,and it took FOUR hours to download,and after finishing downloading,it says the downloaded updates were corrupted,and i tried it twice,same result
i checked some of the discussion forums,but many of the given replies were for Windows users,like searching in the C Drive and using the Ctrl key and stuff,I synced my iPhone on my MacBook Pro,which doesn't have those separate C,D,etc drives,and it doesn't have a Ctrl key,but does have a Command key which i'm guessing is just the same
i need to know how to restore my iPhone4 without having to update it,i don't mind my personal stuff getting erased,i had used it for just one day
i need help,PLEASE!!!

ummmm i'm sorry but what exactly am i supposed to do?? download that app from apple store??
i also tried downloading my iphone's firmware and pressing option and clicking Restore,but it says the downloaded firmware is uncompatible,what does that mean? is it a problem with the firmware i downloaded or that i'm using a Mac OS??

thats exactly what its supposed to do... follow the video then restore.

you will loose any data on the phone but you already said its not a big deal.

dude i already did,i tried the Update and Restore thing twice,it takes bloody four hours to download those updates,and after four hours it says the download was corrupted and to try again,and that's it,no update,no restore

You might want to try downloading the firmware file direct from apple rather than via iTunes. You can find every firmware file in the link below. If you not sure which one is correct, post back I and I'll help you get the right one...
