Hello and welcome to the forum! the main place you will get the apps is the app store unless you jailbreak but if you are un sure of any app then some one will tell you if its good, if there is not already a thread on that app

Welcome to the forum, katy...... This is a good forum for answers to many of your questions and concerns. You can download the iPhone Users Manual from the web or get it directly off your iPhone when you get it. That manual is really fine.
