3GS, 5.1.1, Jailbroken, official baseband.

first thing i tried to do was take it to my friends laptop on itunes and transfer a few mp3s from my android....they wouldn't let me put em on, but finally i used "manage songs manually" and was able to get a couple on....but then all the songs i had on my iphone erased....but i had the songs from android on there.

But after i took the iphone to my room, ALL THE SONGS were gone from the phone!

ive been trying to just do a ipsw restore via itunes....but my computer isn't even detecting the phone! :( idk i even tried using redsn0w with pwned DFU and its not detecting...redsnow saying nothing connected, one time though it said "afc device connected" and i have no idea what that is....

then i just went to settings and did "erase all content", but it circled forever and nothing happened so i 'hard reset', and then just powered it off and went to bed crying.

so i am at wits end and crying, please assist! :(

You don't need Pwned DFU mode for restoring to the same or higher baseband, just regular DFU mode. Put your device into regular DFU mode, and make sure RedSn0w is ran as administrator. If not, turn the iPhone off, and hold the home button while connecting your 30-pin connector cable to put the device into recovery mode and work from there.

Lesson learned: Non-iPad devices are linked to a specific computer and Apple ID for syncing.

When the PC has stopped detecting the device, even in DFU mode etc., it indicates you've got your driver configuration messed up. The best course of action is usually to remove iTunes from the PC, reboot, then immediately re-install the latest version. That gets the drivers back in a steady state. After you do this, you should be able to get the device detected.

If you see the Apple Mobile Driver under device manager even though the iPhone isn't plugged in, remove it as well before restarting your PC and reinstalling iTunes

Turned out the big problem i had was my iphone case was kinda getting in the way of the charger, so it was connected but it slightly kept disconnecting ..so yeah...keep an eye out for that my fellow iphonies
