The jailbreak for iOS 6.0 and 6.0.1 are one and the same according to Planetbeing since 6.0.1 is basically a hotfix patch, the jailbreak for the 4S will be released with the 5

No. You can use redsn0w, point it to a 6.0 ispw then in cydia thebosboss.org/semi and download the tweak for a semitethered JB.

so question. I just bought an Iphone5 today and it still has ios6.0 on it. i know that I cannot save my blobs but should i stay on 6.0 or go ahead and update to 6.0.1? Any thoughts? Thanks

I don't think it will matter. They really are saying that 6.0.1 is just a hotfix of 6.0. I would assume that the next jailbreak that comes out will work for either.
