iPhone 3GS help

I have a iPhone 3GS running 5.1.1 and jailbroke with redsn0w. I am trying to upgrade to ios6. I have tried going through iTunes, OTA and also saving the file to my computer and doing the shift+restore option in iTunes. I tried putting the phone into pawned DFU mode from redsn0w with no success. Any help would be great.

What error codes is iTunes giving you?

Error code 6 and error code 1601

Is your 3GS running a custom 5.1.1 to preserve the 6.15 or 5.13.04 baseband?

No sir. I bought it with 5.1.1 on the phone. It is locked to AT&T
