why not just go to the carrier and get a free one and you bought one from ebay?

I bought it just to check that it would work when the phone got unlocked. But it doesnt so that was a waste of a quid lol should the sim still work in the iphone even though my tarrif doesnt change to iphone until the 19th?
Makes no difference what tariff the sim is on
Ok.. Hmm trust it to be my luck for it to still not work lol shall i just leave it 24 hours and see what happens?

Don't you have to register the payg sim before it will go on line these days? Pal of mine bought a vodafone sim from his local garage (impatient type), but said could not top it up until he initially paid via a card.
Ahh that will explain why its completely dead then.. Havnt been on pay as you go for about 5 years so i had no clue.
Ill leave my contract sim for 24 hours and see if it recognises it.. If not ill give my network a ring.
Hopefully it will be worth all the hassle when im finally up and running

So you did not ring and activate? I was under the impression you had done so. you have to ring and activate and a top up of at least 10 is good. it activated straight away and you will get a signal once you do so. or should do at least
No i didnt ring and activate just bought it an used it.. Hence the no sim signal. But i have a contract sim which is activated and in use in another phone which i want to put into my iphone.. When i put it in it has very very low signal to the point where it doesnt even show up that it is on orange network.
This is what i mean by no signal at all

I havnt called up to activate it no because i dont really plan on keeping it just wanted to use it to see if my phone has unlocked. Should my other sim be working by now though? It works perfectly fine in the other phone with full signal even though it has been cut down to micro sim size yet i put it in my iphone and nothing.. Urghhh frustrating

Try it It should be working by now. Do you know any one else with a iphone or activated micro sim? you can get these sim adaptors so that you can make the micro sim to normal size as well if need be
Yea been tryin it all day and nothing. Gonna try syncing it with itunes again now though i allready done it soon as i got the email. Hm suppose i coyld pinch somebodys sim card for a second and see if it works... Anyone other than o2 right? Cos the phone was locked to tesco neways
yes if its locked to o2 then any carrier that uses the o2 network or o2 would work even while locked
