All Things Ds John Paczkowski reports today on a new survey from BTIG Research which found that the iPhone is the best-selling smartphone in Verizon and AT&T stores. BTIG Research polled 250 Verizon and AT&T stores in the U.S. and asked them to name their best-selling phone. According to ATD, 51 percent of Verizon stores said that the iPhone was their number one seller, and 38 percent said it was joint first with an Android phone, usually the Samsung Droid Charge or the HTC Thunderbolt. As far as the AT&T stores polled were concerned, the iPhone fared even better, with 65 percent of stores saying that it was their top seller, and 31 percent naming an Android phone as the top seller.
In total, 58 percent of stores polled said that the iPhone was their best-selling phone, with 20 percent saying that the iPhone was joint first with a rival phone. In yet more worrying news for RIM, ATD notes that the BlackBerry barely received a mention from the stores.
Source: Whats the Top-Selling Phone at Verizon and AT&T? - John Paczkowski - Mobile - AllThingsDAt AT&T, there were actually a handful of stores that mentioned a BlackBerry and a Windows Phone as the top seller in their store, said BTIG analyst Walter Piecyk. We never got that response from any of the Verizon stores, which have dated versions of the BlackBerry.
