While initial reports have said that the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ have a better display and camera than the iPhone X, MacRumors reports that according to early benchmark tests from AnandTech, the iPhone X’s A11 chip is still outperforming the Samsung S9’s new Exynos 9810 chip. In fact, in some of the tests, the Galaxy S9 was even beaten by the iPhone 7’s A10 chip.
Of the two chips that Samsung is using in its new Galaxy phones, the Exynos 9810 outperforms that Snapdragon 845, but neither of them can beat the iPhone X’s A11 Bionic chip.
For example, in one single-core GeekBench 4 test, the Exynos 9810 had integer and floating point scores of 3,724 and 3,440 respectively, whereas the A11 recorded scores of 4,630 and 3,958 respectively, and even the A10 had an integer score of 4,007, beating Samsung’s chip.
The iPhone X also excelled in terms of graphical performance, as did the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7.
