i have put ringtones on my iphone 4s before and they were availible for ringtones and text tones and now i just made one and put it on there the same way and the new one is only availible for ringtones. specific reason why?

You may want to go into iTunes on your pc and uncheck ringtones, sync and check ringtones to get it to be recognized. I've had that issue before too .
