Go to settings> general> accessibility/ there is the option for flash notification.

I don't believe there's going to be an icon. Just Cydia & you work from there...

Cydia will be the only addition when you jailbreak.

Actually limera1n would put the limera1n "loader" app in your phone from which you could then load Cydia. It was not always the most reliable... Been a very long time since I used it though.

OP may have better luck with greenpois0n RC4.
