Jailbreak and Unlock 4.1 (READ BEFORE CREATING A NEW THREAD)

Well you held out longer than I did.... The battery life is nothing like the 3GS....such an improvement. Must have to do with the processor.

i used to always be first to jailbreak but never had any problems, this time was no different but what made me jailbreak in the end was i wanted ringtones longer then 30 seconds and ended up just installing everything from winterboard sbsettings cydelete and some sweet video wallpapers that work nicely on the iphone 4. on the iphone 2007 animated themes made the phone lag badly, though they stop animating when you launch a game and you have to re load. but some new apps i never knew of like fakeCarrier. am trying to keep the jailbreak apps low so when i upgrade to 4.2 it wont be so annoying to re install it all lol.

the 3gs i never had it, went from the iphone 3g to nokia to iphone 4 lol. but i imagine a great improvement from the 3g. i reminded myself why i love jb so much. i doubt ill be able to go back now lol.

downloaded aptbackup. hopefully this time it works. though it sucked to see some good apps like free tethering and 3g unrestrictor is not free.

Honestly after Jailbreaking I could never go back after seeing the stuff you can do with the phone now. Love the customizing you can do.

Can someone please help me with this I have downloaded 3 files 2 different computers all of them are zip and I extract them and none of them have a file called ipsw????

Ok I figured out that problem but now when I select the file and itunes talks to apple it gives me an error code

whats was the problem? and what error code do you get?

Honestly after Jailbreaking I could never go back after seeing the stuff you can do with the phone now. Love the customizing you can do.

i always felt that way i could just never be bothered to sit re installing all apps after upgrading firmware :/

he has his friends 3gs and i gave him links to different firmwares for the iphone 3gs and its on 3.1.3 and i think he might be trying to put on 4.0.2 but hes using shift+restore.....

but he was given that error code. so now he needs to know the next step what he should do, he needs unlock i think so he cant upgrade to official 4.1

if he has 3.1.3 why in heck he would want 4.0.2?? he can easily unlock 3.1.3 with jailbreakme.com

so the real Q is... does it gives him an error after it's been downloaded or before, b/c if it's after then he need a tiny to kick it out from the restore mode.
