Then why is MyWifi a featured Cydia App and way more popular than TetherMe if it carries so much risk. That's not like Cydia. Not disagreeing with you - just perplexed.

MyWi is developed by Intelliborn. Intelliborn also happens to be the developers of the Cydia alternative, Rock, which was purchased and phased out by Saurik a while back. I am sure that one of the stipulations of the agreement that Intelliborn had with Saurik, was that he feature their applications on the Cydia homepage. Like Thomasjtsi said, it's just business.
