My jailbroken iphone 4 wont restore or update

Iv been trying for hours to get my iphone 4 to update to ios 5 but it keeps coming up with error 3194 iv updated itunes, tried reseting comp but still no luck
My iphone is jailbroken with redsnow, i cannot unjailbreak my phone either to update it please help me as getting worried that iv messed my phone up and wont be able to get ios 5

Hi did you put it into dfu mode before restoring , you have to hold the home and power button down for 10 seconds and then let go of power keep holding home for 15 s it should stay blank then when you reconnect to iTunes it should say it noticed you have phone in recovery then you can restore , if you tried this and still getting problem then I don't know you can try googling the error message for solution or maybe someone more knowledgable than me here can help

Hi, thanks Samch but ye iv tried that and i wont work still comes up with error 3194...think its got somit to do with the jailbreak stopping apple verifying my iphone.
