Lol what I'm hoping as well. I'll pay for it if its legit.

There is no such thing as a legit commercial jailbreak. They are always free.

I would not be surprised if ionic starts to charge for un tethered jailbreaks if he ever decides to release them and not just keep it for himself.

I know this i'm just saying jailbreaking a iphone turns into a whole other animal so paying for it wouldn't bother me (especially if it meant they released them quicker ;-) )

They already release them as quick as possible or when appropriate if a new firmware is coming soon then they do hold of or similar situations but the devs that accept donations make a lot from doing so and that is incentive enough to release as quick as possible already so the release time would pretty much be the same

Does 5.1.1 change everything?? Or should we still be fine

Considering its only been out for a tad over 3 hours, there is no way to know. But if I was going to guess, odds are it doesn't affect what has already been discovered.

Just to be safe....do not update to 5.1.1.

Devs advise not to upgrade but you can jailbreak non A5 devices with redsn0w if you point it at ios 5.1 and tethered of course and if you rely on unlock then 100% stay away from the upgrade.

i0n1c just posted a picture of his iPad3 jailbroken on 5.1.1 so apparently the exploits are still there, but I would stay on 5.0.1/5.1 for now until pod2g gives the green light since it is possible that i0n1c and pod2g are using different exploits.

Yes he did...

not that he will ever release it to the public.

There is also a un released process to downgrade the 4S from 5.1.1/5.1 to 5.0.1

Ya, I wish musclenerd hadn't been so vague about that little tidbit of information... he says that there is a downgrade process that Apple knows about but did not patch in 5.1.1, but then how does he know that Apple knows about it if they didn't patch it!?
