Ringtone into a textone?

Just Brought and downloaded a ringtone that tell me I have a text message.

Trouble is I want it as the textone not a ringtone.

Is there anyway of doing this?

If you jailbreak yes, you can ssh the ringtone into the SMS ringtone folder or even get it done using BiteSMS.

there is no way to put your own custom sms tone with out jailbreak.

Yes in ios 5 there is an option to buy sms tones so im sure you will be able to set one in itunes like you can with ringtones currently

You can't. You have to wait until ios5

Don't normally moan but therm grime I bought was misleading as the tones first line is ' you have a text message '

Why would I want a ring tone that says u got a text message if it only goes off when someone is calling me?
