Ringtones for iPhone 16 pro max

Just bought the iPhone 16 pro max. First iPhone I've ever had, and I need some help. I have about 8gbs of music on my MacBook Pro, but haven't downloaded it to my phone. I know how to get the music on to the phone, but how do I get it from there into the ringtones section, and the email section, etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new phone, The only way I know how to create my own ringtones I use the recording app as I'm listening to a song that I want to use for ringtones then I use garage band to cut splice the start and end about 30 secs for tones and it will show in ringtones once saved.

Wow, too complicated for me. Definitely above my pay grade. I'll just choose one that's already on the phone. I think that's why they gave us so many.

Yep, that is exactly how you have to do it. I think it's to encourage you to buy the ringtones on the iTunes store. Or to subscribe to Apple Music. Kind of frustrating.

It’s not hard I forgot to tell you one additional app that will help and that’s this app right here Ringtones Maker which after you have the song in your files saved you can use this app to create and the last step for garage band is easy bc you are just creating it for it to show on your list . It’s easy once you get the hang.
