Warranty on IP4

I'm just curious, if your IP4 is jailbroken but then you restore it back to it's factory settings, how would apple know to say that your warranty in invalid?

Or are they talking about bringing in an actual phone which is still JB?

They wouldn't know as long as you restore using iTunes.
