Even though I've now lived in the Caribbean for 12 years. I was born and grew up in Canada ( Montreal & Toronto area) I too remember as a kid that after a deep freeze ( -20 F & colder) warming back up through 0F felt like 'really nice'. The Canadians on this forum speak the truth!!Everything is frozen rock hard. I spent time in Chicago too where even though a lot shorter. Winter could be just as brutal.
I run the usual group of weather apps but Caribbean weather is predictably unpredictable mainly in summer. US based sources don't often cover it well much beyond Puerto Rico so I use a few European / British apps in my mix if possible. I found a fascinating app a few days ago ( free) called 'MeteoEarth'. It's more 'map based' but do have a look. It's worldwide coverage is excellent.
