I really hope the newly formed disturbance ( yellow) off the African coast follows a track similar to the area of interest nearer to the Caribbean as it has potential to be a nasty major hurricane relatively early in its life. Worth watching [emoji849]

Looks like New Orleans is going to get hammered by hurricane force winds of over 110mph on Sunday. I hope the sea walls hold this time.

Current predictions have hurricane Ida making landfall late Sunday as a possible category 4 hurricane on the 16th anniversary of hurricane Katrina. A mandatory evacuation for some areas of New Orleans outside the levee system has been ordered but there is not enough time to do the same for the entire city.
