I'm new here (obviously) and have just found my iphone 4 disabled !!!!(CHILDREN!)

Hoping to get some help and advise on the situation.

Could someone point me in the right direction please.

Could you elaborate on disabled? As in the passcode being entered excessively and locked out completely?

Thanks for the welcome.

Well my 7yr old thought it was funny to keep trying to get into my phone by trying different passcodes and now it is DISABLED, I registered it on my mothers pc 44 miles away and i have no idea what to do.

Someone mentioned about jailbreaking my phone so i may take a look (if i can get it working again)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately, your only option is to restore the device in DFU mode to get the phone working again. There are methods to bypass the passcode but it's in the grey area and is an invasion of privacy after all, and for that, we can't discuss it as it may be used for other reasons

So here's my problem. I bought a new iPhone 4 from Verizon for my daughter as a gift. I had the bag in my car when I stopped at Walmart. I came back to my car to find my passenger window busted out and the iPhone and my stereo gone. Of course no one claimed to have seen anything. I was devastated. I made a police report and went back to Verizon and was told there was nothing they could do. They said since the phone had not been activated yet there was no way to trace it. How could that be? So basically anyone can activate my phone and they have no way to know who is using it? Does anyone know if this is true or if Verizon just doesn't care. I would think it would be as simple as tracing the serial number to see who activated it. Any answers would be helpful. Thanks.

You can't trace it unless its been activated. Report it to local authorities and they'll have the device flagged once it's activated and will trace it then. IIRC, depending on the state you're in, they can keep it flagged for about 90 days or something like that. At least that's what I've heard from my brother-in-law

My son's iPod touch was disabled by him forgetting the password and doing that. Since he didnt have much important stuff in an no backup, I restored it in my computer to factory settings. Recommend u do the same in your computer if u dont have a backup and important data at your 44 mile away computer. Restore it on iTunes if u have no unlock/jailbreak issues. Specially no need to preserve baseband and so on...

U can call me Rick. Have an iPhone4 4.1 bb 02.10.04 and been using GEVEY SIM for over a year. Now updated to 5.1.1 and preserved baseband and also unlocked via SAM. No more Gevey. IM FREEEEEEEEEEE!

HI, I'm new here, obviously. I came here cuz I just bought an Iphone 4 from a freind of mine, paid $45 for it. (Marrige seperation specials, LOL) Its practically brand new, but I got a couple questions about it, (mostly due to the circumstances of aquisition) Not sure if I should post them here, or make a new thread for it. (I'm not entiraly sure what to search for on this issue) But yeah. Thats my story, in a nutshell of course.

Well I thought I chose the correct words since it was just a curse at Apple (not at any member), since I guess Apple's locked up position on software and AT&T wise in 2010-2011 made quite a lot of people mad! Me specially since I had payed the overprice to have nothing to do with AT&T contract and still had my phone as an ipod for over months, since I came with it out of the USA and couldn't use it in NO local company!
