One way to guarantee that the pencil is not at fault is to try the pencil in notes on another iPad Pro. If it works, then the problem is definitely with your iPad Pro.

Thanks, It seems to be fine now, I had to keep connecting it to the Pro with the lightening connector, After a few attempts it worked in Notability, I have it working in Notes now too......Think I got a contrary one, It just didn't want to play
