At the moment, iTunes is downloading the software. If I can't update it that way, I might have to erase it as well. I'd like to avoid it, though.@J. A. I went ahead and wiped my iPhone 6s a second time and setup as a new iPhone, I was not asked to plug the phone into iTunes this time. I'm thinking it was the firmware update, this second install was much smoother and error-free. Just FYI.
EDIT: I see that the iOS version installed right now is 10.0.1 rather than 10.0. So, iOS has already had a minor point update.
The iOS 10 Gold Master was already at iOS 10.0.1 so it looks like they tweaked something just before the Gold Master release.@J. A. You'll notice that music videos have been removed from the videos app and added to the music app.Wowsers, Lots of new stuff! This almost feels like moving to a whole new operating system.
Man, I love Apple
It also downloaded a firmware update on my iPad Pro. I'm trying to install it on my iPhone 6s Plus now. If the same happens there, this might be the reason.I noticed that iTunes downloaded a firmware update. I wonder if that could be the reason for needing iTunes.
